A chance discovery that pleasantly surprised
Ly and Raivo from Pärnu found themselves in Southeast Estonia for the first time quite unexpectedly. Their original plan had been to travel to a warm destination, but the complicated global situation quickly made that idea unrealistic. They began looking for alternatives, and by chance came across Värska Health Resort Centre.
After exploring the packages in more detail, they made a decision – to try something completely different.
In hindsight, it was the right choice.
Although they initially had some prejudices, these soon faded. The treatments were especially impressive – the mud bath, the VelusJet bed, and particularly memorable was the more intensive hand massage, which stood out from their previous experiences.
The entire environment was pleasantly clean and well maintained – both the rooms and the treatment areas. The food was tasty and home-style, and the staff were friendly and helpful. The peace and quiet were a value in themselves, although at times it even felt like there might be a bit too much of it. The piano music also stood out, adding a distinct nuance to the atmosphere.
There were, however, a few minor observations. For convenience, it would be useful to have a telephone in the room and more clocks around the building to better keep track of time. The food selection could offer a bit more variety, especially when it comes to desserts. In the context of a health-focused facility, offering alcohol could also be more modest. It would also be nice to have more opportunities for social interaction, for example through shared activities. Disc golf was particularly enjoyable.
Despite this, the overall experience remained very positive. It is a place where people come to rest, slow down, and take care of themselves – and that is certainly possible here.
Ly and Raivo are confident they would recommend this experience to others and do not rule out returning someday. In addition to the rehabilitation centre, Southeast Estonia itself offered them a sense of discovery and left them wanting to explore the region even further.
