Bone Density Measurement
Bone density measurement is a procedure that helps to detect bone thinning in its early stages and start the treatment to avoid bone fractures. Bone density is measured from finger bones by ultrasound method. This method is accurate and gives a good overview of bone mineralization. Bone thinning starts from spine and since finger bones are structurally the most similar bones to vertebrae we get quite informative results.
The risk group of bone thinning are women over 50-years, people with risky lifestyle (smoking, consumption of alcohol, coffee and sparkling drinks), people with low mobility, low consumption of dairy products (lactose intolerance). If you have suffered from or are suffering from rheumatoid arthritis, liver and kidney disorders, lung diseases or inflammatory bowel diseases.
